Fund Investment & Private Equity Advisory The Chief Risk Officer is an exceptional career opportunity for a qualified Responsible Officer (RO) to join a team of HK-based partners, sponsors and advisors with a record of success in fund investment and private equity advisory in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space in Asia. The Position The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with all of the firm's investments. The role is crucial for ensuring compliance with regulations and safeguarding the clients' assets. The CRO plays a vital role in navigating the unique risks associated with blockchain & cryptocurrency technologies, ensuring that the investment company can capitalize on opportunities while minimizing potential threats. The Company Our client is a HK-based, SFC-licensed investment firm comprised of Asia-based professionals with strong industry relationships and operating expertise across the region. They work in a highly collaborative style and possess a well-defined but adaptable investment strategy that has produced superior results over an eight-year period. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework tailored with special regard to blockchain & crypto investments, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Oversee compliance with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to fiduciary obligations. Conduct systematic identification and evaluation of risks related to all investment projects and portfolio companies, including operational, compliance, and market risks. Advise the executive team on the risk implications of strategic initiatives, including new investments and partnerships. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of risk data to stakeholders, maintaining transparency and accountability in risk management practices. Candidate Requirements The CRO must possess an SFC Type 4 License (Advising on Securities) and a Type 5 License (Advising on Futures Contracts) and qualify for a Responsible Officer (RO) designation. A master's degree in finance, business or a related field. A minimum of 10 years in risk management, with significant experience in the financial technology or blockchain sectors. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
