Merchandising Manager – Raw Material

Responsibilities Manage raw material merchandising operations across regions to drive business growth and profitability. Lead and mentor the raw material merchandising teams in sourcing potential local and global suppliers. Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure long‑term collaboration. Formulate and execute strategic plans for the raw material/gemstone category. Optimize product mix and pricing strategies to enhance revenue and customer satisfaction. Monitor sales performance, product quality, and supplier engagement to uphold excellence. Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure product standards are met and maintain strong supplier relationships. Partner closely with the operation teams to align merchandising strategies, product assortment, and promotional activities. Engage with retail stores to collect feedback on product performance and customer preferences. Requirements Minimum 10 years of experience in merchandising or purchasing within raw material, gemstone, or diamond sectors, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. Possession of GAA, GIA, or an equivalent graduate Gemology certification is an advantage. In‑depth understanding of merchandising workflows and trends in the gemstone and raw material markets. Strong product knowledge with hands‑on experience in gemstone merchandising. Familiarity with both retail and wholesale markets. Proficient in data analysis with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
