Position Overview Facilitate good working relationships with internal teams, NY office, suppliers and factories Manage fabric procurement from Salesman sample yardage adoption until bulk production covering a wide range of fabrics and mills Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage feedback and consolidation on mill performances & information to all internal and external partners to ensure reliability in quality, price and service Monitor and train vendors on new required format, procedures, disciplines Manage and negotiate fabric costing / MOQ / lead-time and update all relevant parties Support production team on garment care code, testing and problem solving on fabrication issues before proceeding to bulk production Provide solutions for bulk fabric quality issues Keep track of fabric delivery performance of fabric yardage cover Proto / Salesman / bulk Provide support in solving problems with production team, mills and factories to avoid late shipments Maintain and update system data, charts, and generate reports Responsible for color lab dip arrangement, color library maintenance and obtain various approvals Manage all bulk lots & testing approvals Keep track of holiday schedule with mills in different countries/origins to support production team in Salesman sample development and bulk order placement Work closely with internal partners to provide platform or position fabric information to support production team on quick turnaround time Experience, Skills & Knowledge Product and Technical Knowledge: Strong fashion sense, merchandising background is a plus Apply knowledge to understand internal product and technical requirements Experience in textile manufacturing: Analytical and Organizational skills: Ability to conduct data analysis and extract critical points for team review Ability to organize data and communicate findings with various audiences Ability to create/define processes and procedures which reflect current information flows Business and system maintenance, generate analysis and report from systems Apply business acumen to understand macro business impact on production issues Qualification & Experience: Prefer Diploma and above holder in merchandising, textile and relevant disciplines At least 5 years merchandising experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business Strong interpersonal and communication skills Able to work independently with minimum supervision Good team worker, organized and detailed Well spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin Knowledge of SAP/PLM, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries Advertising Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at BoF Careers by 2x Get notified about new Materials Specialist jobs in Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR . #J-18808-Ljbffr
