On-site Full Time 3 - 5 Year Associate
As Senior Researcher/Postdoctoral Fellow in Sports Technology Development of OLAB HK Limited at the Hong Kong Science Park, you will manage and analyze sports performance and biomechanics data collected by research grade equipment to develop software solutions for internal research and testing activities and sportswear development projects. You will be a full-time researcher at OLAB sports science & innovation lab responsible for internal software development, AI infrastructure development, and biomechanics big data analytics, including:
- Data stream integration from biomechanics equipment for advanced sports performance and sports product testing.
- Establishment and management of the laboratory database for big data analytics.
- Development of AI-driven algorithms for predicting key biomechanical parameters.
You will demonstrate your commitment to biomechanics data analytics and your ability to transfer your laboratory knowledge to enhance the core competitiveness of our services and products primarily related to walking, running, and basketball. You will interact closely with our science, product, and design engineering team members to customize software and algorithms for project-specific testing protocols, set research priorities, and meet project timelines. You will mentor and train interns or trainees for data analysis, presentation, and technical report writing. You will become the resident expert for biomechanics data analysis and support the company's communication and marketing needs by presenting findings and AI solutions derived from our database in marketing events, demonstrating OLAB's commitment to sports performance and biomechanics research and evidence-based product innovations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to develop novel analysis methods and digital pipelines to accelerate the development and upgrade of company services and products.
- Build and maintain a data analysis system, including a database, ready for big data analysis to generate insightful ideas for sports product development.
- Explore, design, develop, and validate biomechanics analysis and feedback systems at OLAB for its potential consumers or business partners.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a highly relevant discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant research experience in an academic research institute or sports product industry.
- Strong experience in managing and analyzing human locomotion and performance research databases.
- Proficiency in Python or C++.
- Proficiency in cloud computing language is an advantage.
- Experience in AI algorithm development for sports applications.
- Experience in mobile application development is an advantage.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis with SPSS is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication, organizational, time management, and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of sports performance and product testing processes and standards is an advantage.
- Active runner with a good understanding of shoe product functions and trends preferred.
- Passion for sports, sportswear, and sports technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere.
- Scientific publication experience in the relevant area is an advantage.
- Fluent in verbal and written English and Chinese.
