Position: Food Safety and Quality Supervisor Location: Miamisburg, OH Job Id: 131 # of Openings: 1 Food Safety and Quality SupervisorThe Killer Brownie Company650 Precision CtMiamisburg, OH Availability Mon-Sat 5AM-8PM Role The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and cross‑functional collaboration to maintain and improve food safety systems, oversee FSQA operations, and support continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the FSQA Supervisor directly oversees the day shift sanitation team to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation practices are consistently executed. Food Safety & Quality Systems Lead the implementation and auditing of FSQA programs including HACCP, SQF, GMPs, Food Defense, and Allergen Management. Maintain hold and release records, investigate non‑conforming products and foreign matter incidents. Serve as site backup SQF Practitioner and participate in internal audits and third‑party inspections. Ensure success of mock recalls, traceability exercises, and vulnerability assessments through proper documentation. Create environment monitoring testing schedule. Oversee the creation and communication of daily food safety and quality communication topics. Reviews and verifies food safety and quality records via compliance software. Lead daily product evaluations to ensure quality of product. Team Leadership & Training – FSQA Supervise and mentor QA technicians; schedule coverage and evaluate performance. Organize and deliver training on food safety protocols, GMPs, and quality standards. Foster a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement by promoting accountability and collaboration across all departments. Conduct daily department huddle to communicate daily activities and recognition with the team. Team Leadership – Daytime Sanitation Supervise and support the daytime sanitation team. Lead hiring, coaching, and team development. Verify that tasks are completed in a timely manner and recorded appropriately. Ensure that completed tasks meet established standards. Manage orders for PPE and janitorial supplies. Review potential changes to master sanitation schedule and chemicals with sanitation supervisor. Customer & Regulatory Interface Investigate internal and external complaints and lead CAPAs and RCAs. Communicate findings and recommendations to management. Operational Support Collaborate with production, maintenance, sanitation, and R&D teams to assess risks and implement process improvements. Monitor production runs, refine processes, and respond to quality issues on the line. Oversee the inspection of incoming labels and ingredients for accuracy and quality. Attend and contribute to cross‑departmental team meetings and huddles. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, engineering, or related field; or 5–7 years of relevant experience. Certifications preferred: HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense. Strong knowledge of SQF, GMPs, FSMA, allergen control programs, and other food safety standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational software. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Proven leadership and team development experience. Cross‑functional teamwork, conflict resolution, and adaptability. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and walk short distances. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., reach above shoulders and below knees, and perform bending, stooping, and twisting. Sensory evaluation capabilities (sight, smell, taste, feel). Environmental Conditions Industrial manufacturing environment. Temperatures between 70‑90 degrees.
