Assistant Manager – HVAC

Job Responsibilities Monitor the execution of work requisitions in repairs and maintenance of building services, kitchen and catering equipment, chiller plant room, sea water cooling and other HVAC systems issued by various departments of the Centre. Plan preventive maintenance schedules and assure implementation of an effective and regular preventive maintenance programme to keep the Centre’s property in good condition. Manage maintenance contracts, tenders and quotation invitations to facilitate maintenance work. Work closely with the Purchasing Department for negotiation with service providers. Monitor and implement energy‑saving programmes to ensure efficient use of energy in the Centre. Implement green initiatives or targets set by the parent company or senior management. Monitor and maintain building services systems and equipment assigned by the direct supervisor. Take responsibility for projects, licensing, certification applications and renewals related to building services and safety. Ensure all work complies with relevant regulatory and safety rules and that employees work in a safe environment. Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor. Qualifications Degree holder or above in building services, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields. Holder of a registered electrical worker grade “B” licence. Minimum 3 years’ experience in building services engineering, with a significant portion in a client‑side/facility management role managing multiple contractors and vendors. Reviewed design drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for constructability and compliance. Supervised installation, testing and commissioning of complex HVAC systems (e.g., chilled water systems, VRF, DX, air handling units, BMS controls). Conducted site inspections and quality assurance audits to ensure work meets design standards and safety regulations. Handled technical snagging and defect resolution during project handover. Demonstrated experience in the end‑to‑end tender process: drafting technical specifications and tender documents, evaluating bids, conducting negotiations and awarding contracts. Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, controlling costs and ensuring value for money from service providers. Good command of spoken and written English & Chinese. Strong communication, vendor management and people management skills. Multi‑tasking, detail‑minded and responsive. Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Able to work under pressure and respond to 24‑hour emergency calls. Candidates with more experience will be considered for a Manager role.
