Part-time Research Associate (IIDS project) (A&SS) (Ref: 25002J3) Founded in 1989, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) is a modern, vibrant and dynamic university that tailors its professional programmes to adapt to market trends and meet industry needs, providing students with quality professional education and clear career paths. We conduct research that advances knowledge and enhances teaching, focusing on strategic areas such as digital humanities and literature, international business, gerontechnology, personalised care, smart city, open and innovative education, and bilingual learning and teaching. We also aim to address Hong Kong’s challenges and expand into the Greater Bay Area. We are looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences. Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will assist in a research project related to aging, cultural studies, and psychological studies (UGC/IIDS16/H01/25) and will be responsible for the following: Conducting preliminary research for the project Data collection, including developing questionnaires and conducting interviews Data analyses and exploration of data archiving methods Conducting workshops and symposiums Providing assistance in writing papers, reports, and publications Coordinating with internal and external parties, supporting the research team, liaison at various levels Performing other duties as assigned Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience, and competence: Have a post‑graduate degree (preferably a PhD) in social sciences, community arts, or social well‑being‑related studies Have at least 5 years of experience working for NGOs or social/community projects Have experience coordinating events, social projects, conferences, and possess liaison, social, and communication skills Terms and Conditions for Appointment Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time fixed‑term contract for no more than 17 hours per week. Payment will be made on an hourly basis based on actual work done. Benefits will be provided in accordance with statutory provisions. The position is a one‑year contract, with flexible hours under the supervision of the Project Investigator.
