Junior Applied AI Engineer

Add expected salary to your profile for insights We’re a VC firm building practical AI systems to speed up sourcing, memos, diligence, portfolio updates, and reporting. You’ll work directly with a partner/tech lead (hands-on engineer) to build, ship, and improve internal tools that our team uses every week. This is not a research role. It’s a builder role: implement → deploy → measure → iterate. What you’ll build Investment memo assistant: turn notes + deck + links into a first draft memo, with citations and open questions Firm knowledge search: ask questions over past memos/theses/notes and return sourced answers Workflow automations: diligence checklists, pipeline updates, portfolio update summaries, content calendars Integrations: Notion / Google Drive, Slack, email, CRM via APIs Safe “agents” that run multi-step tasks with human review gates (no auto‑sending externally) Responsibilities Build internal tools end‑to‑end (backend + simple UI or Slack commands) Implement LLM features (retrieval, structured outputs, tool calling) Add guardrails: permissions, audit logs, human approval steps Add basic evaluation/regression checks to track quality over time Deploy and maintain services (CI, error alerts, cost awareness) Iterate quickly based on real partner/team feedback Requirements Must‑have Strong coding fundamentals and a “ship it” mindset Comfortable with Python (and ideally TypeScript/Node) Experience with APIs and databases; can write maintainable code Excited to learn and experiment with LLMs/automation Good written and verbal communication in English Nice‑to‑have Shipped real projects (internship, side project, open source) Any of: LangChain/LlamaIndex/LangGraph, vector DBs, queues (Celery/Redis), Docker Basic security hygiene (secrets, least privilege, careful with data) Fresh graduates candidates are also welcome to apply Compensation Competitive Hong Kong salary for junior engineers + discretionary bonus + MPF.
