IT Operations Specialist

Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day infrastructure support by monitoring and managing incidents and alerts to ensure optimal system performance. Assist with production support by efficiently handling assigned tasks and resolving technical issues in a timely manner. Engage in problem management processes, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Support change‑management activities, including coordination, task preparation, and documentation to ensure smooth transitions. Work closely with IT development teams to facilitate seamless application deployment and integration into the existing infrastructure. Assist with IT acquisitions, tracking of assets, and ensure proper management of computer equipment and software licensing. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with the tracking and auditing of IT assets. Liaise with IT service providers to coordinate incident resolution and ensure alignment with service level agreements. Support IT compliance efforts by participating in reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices. Qualifications Educational Background Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations, demonstrating a strong understanding of operational processes. Technical Skills Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols. Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Unix systems. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud); AWS Solution Architect certification is a plus. Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V). Understanding of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Ability to use scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for task automation. Analytical Skills Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. Ability to conduct thorough investigations to identify underlying issues. Project Management Experience in managing IT change processes, ensuring minimal disruption. Familiarity with ITIL practices for service management. Communication Skills Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders. Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams. Organizational Skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Skills in creating and maintaining clear and concise documentation. Customer Service Orientation Experience in providing excellent support to end‑users and stakeholders. Willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
