Postdoctoral Fellow/Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Data Science (Appointment for 24 months) (Ref. T/157/25) We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow/Senior Research Assistant to join our project on Industrial Intelligence. This research integrates Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Advanced Control Systems to revolutionise industrial process optimisation and drive new energy transformation. We offer a dynamic research environment at the intersection of AI and control engineering, opportunities to collaborate with industry and publish in top journals, and competitive funding with stipends, travel grants, and resources. Project Physics-informed generative methods of aircraft trajectory for terminal airspace design evaluation Big Data Analytics for Smart Transportation Method in Shenzhen Duties Adaptive control strategies: develop advanced algorithms (e.g. PID, MPC) to optimise business and environmental metrics. AI frameworks for integration: bridge business intelligence with operational control for smarter decisions. Industrial optimisation: combine industrial processes, expert knowledge, and real-time control for enhanced efficiency. Requirements A PhD degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related fields is required. Candidates with interest or expertise in the following areas are preferred: Machine learning/LLMs: optimisation, reinforcement learning, or AI frameworks Control systems: Adaptive control, PID, or MPC strategies Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years’ post‑qualification experience or a Master’s degree plus 1 year’s post‑qualification experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant.
