Mechanical Engineer - Home Beauty Devices Location: Dongguan, China (Full-time, On-site) Industry: Consumer Electronics / Beauty Technology Company: A leading manufacturer of innovative home beauty and personal care devices. About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic R&D and Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be the technical lead for the design, development, and manufacturing of our next-generation home beauty devices. You will own projects from concept and prototyping through to mass production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, functionality, and design excellence. This is a hands‑on role for a technical expert who is passionate about creating products that consumers love and is adept at navigating the fast‑paced OEM/ODM environment in China. Key Responsibilities Lead End-to-End Product Development: Drive the mechanical design process from initial concept, CAD modeling, and prototyping to DFM, tooling kick‑off, and production ramp‑up. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Assembly (DFA): Collaborate closely with our OEM/ODM partners to optimize designs for cost‑effectiveness, manufacturability, and high‑volume production. Technical Design & Innovation: Create robust and innovative mechanical designs for beauty devices, integrating elements like motors, pumps, sensors, PCBs, and batteries. Material Selection: Specify appropriate materials (including various plastics, metals, and composites) for both aesthetics and functionality, considering factors like skin contact, durability, and cost. Tooling & Mould Management: Lead the design, review, and validation of plastic injection moulds and metal tooling. Resolve any tooling‑related issues to ensure part quality.Cross‑Functional Leadership: Work seamlessly with internal teams (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Quality) and external suppliers to ensure project alignment and success. Quality & Standards Compliance: Ensure all mechanical designs and final products comply with relevant international safety, performance, and regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, UL, CE, RoHS). Qualifications & Experience (Must‑Haves) A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 6‑10 years of proven experience in mechanical design and development, specifically within an OEM/ODM environment. Experience with home beauty devices, personal care appliances, or consumer electronics is highly preferred. Expert proficiency in SolidWorks. You must be able to create complex, high‑quality 3D models and detailed 2D drawings. Deep, practical knowledge of plastic and metal manufacturing processes (injection molding, die‑casting, CNC machining) and experience managing tooling from design to production. Strong fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with our global team and local suppliers.
