Overview Hotel and Tourism Institute / Chinese Culinary Institute / International Culinary Institute is looking for a qualified professional to conduct classes and practical training in food and beverage service, support day‑to‑day operations, and train potential competitors for WorldSkills Competition. Responsibilities Conduct classes and practical training in food and beverage service. Provide support in day‑to‑day operation of the training restaurants and food and beverage service at The T Hotel. Perform duties related to the effective running of training programmes. Assist with training potential competitors for the WorldSkills Competition – Restaurant Service trade. Assist in organising roster of local and overseas training and competitions for potential WorldSkills competitors. Maintain department and training related records. Provide stewarding services and support. Assist in supervision, recruitment and placement of students. Assist in the routine maintenance of equipment/facilities of the section. Requirements Recognised higher diploma in Hotel and / or Catering Management or equivalent. At least 3 years relevant experience in work or teaching in hotel / catering industry. Good knowledge of trade specific terminologies. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese; knowledge of Putonghua is preferable. Good knowledge of POS, TMS and related computer applications. Applicants with: a relevant recognised degree; membership of relevant professional bodies such as Institute of Hospitality, WSET, SCA, AHLEI etc.; supervisory level experience in hotel / catering industry; experience in contemporary dining operations in upscale market; experience in local and international skills competitions. Ability to pass a trade test. Candidates without required academic qualifications but with 8 years experience may also apply, potential QF Level 3 qualification required. Notes Appointee will be required to perform duties outside normal office hours, work on a rotational roster that covers evening shifts and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays and in designated places as assigned.
