About the Role The Legal Counsel will support senior members of the Legal Department in providing trusted legal advice to multiple business units, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. Roles and Responsibilities Conduct legal research and provide customer‑centric, commercially sound legal advice on product development, actuarial treaties, operations, marketing, distribution, litigation, complaints, employment, data privacy, IT, AI, and outsourcing. Review and draft contracts, policy documents, and internal records. Provide pragmatic legal analysis on day‑to‑day operational matters. Support strategic projects and initiatives, including relevant committees and task forces. Communicate with regulators (Insurance Authority, Securities and Futures Commission, Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, Monetary Authority of Macao). Prepare regulator reports and submissions. Provide guidance on legal and regulatory risks and requirements. Assist in dispute management and litigations, including working with external counsel. Support policyholder claims, coverage disputes, and customer complaints. Perform other duties assigned by manager or senior members. Minimum Job Requirements Solicitor or barrister qualified in Hong Kong with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience. Legal experience in multiple areas: corporate, commercial, M&A, insurance products, litigation, employment, IT, AI, regulatory advisory, data privacy. In‑house counsel experience, preferably within the insurance industry. Self‑driven, accountable, and possess integrity, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent judgment, analytical, communication, and business acumen. Logical thinker with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset and detail‑oriented approach. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Fluent in English and Chinese. Willing to obtain any relevant licenses required for regulated activities.
