Direct message the job poster from PERSOL APAC Legal Counsel – Telecommunications Our client, a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a skilled and business-minded Legal Counsel to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the telecom industry, providing strategic legal guidance and driving compliance in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Job Title: Legal Counsel – Telecommunications firm Location: Kowloon Key Responsibilities Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including telecommunications service contracts, vendor and supplier agreements, technology collaboration deals, and partnership arrangements. Legal Advisory: Provide strategic legal counsel to business units on day-to-day operations, new business initiatives, intellectual property matters, dispute resolution, and data privacy issues. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with telecommunications laws, regulatory obligations, and industry-specific reporting requirements. Data Privacy & Protection: Advise on data protection laws and practices, including data breach management, cross-border data transfer agreements, and implementation of data privacy frameworks in line with applicable regulations. Governance & Risk Management: Oversee adherence to local laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements, particularly in the areas of telecommunications, data privacy, and corporate governance. Regulatory Monitoring: Track and assess developments in telecommunications and data privacy regulations, providing proactive guidance to mitigate legal and compliance risks. Dispute Resolution: Manage and support dispute handling, litigation, and other legal proceedings, including coordination with external counsel as necessary. Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver legal and compliance training programs to internal stakeholders across various business functions. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise and maintain strong relationships with regulators, external counsel, government authorities, and industry bodies on corporate legal, telecommunications, and data protection matters. Ad-hoc Projects Skills & Experience Over 3 years of PQE gained from reputable law firms or an in-house environment. Meticulous, proactive, and collaborative professional with strong interpersonal abilities. Possesses strong analytical skills, a commercial mindset, and a focus on achieving results. Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments. Familiarity with Hong Kong telecommunications regulations, intellectual property, and data privacy is an advantage. Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Immediate Availability is a plus.
