We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a ABC MANAGER, HK.In this role you will: Impact on the Business The Anti Bribery and Corruption Manager is responsible for supporting the AMH Head of AML Risk Stewardship in managing the bank’s Bribery and Corruption Compliance risks within the region. The role is a key risk management role with a broad remit and responsibilities including Support Head of AML Stewardship in defining and overseeing the execution of strategy for the management of Anti Bribery and Corruption risk Support Head of AML Stewardship in specific priority areas, for example third party risk management, by working closely with Line of Business (LoB), Financial Crime (FC), Functions, and DBS stakeholders, as well as local authorities and regulators Act as a point of escalation for subject matter expertise on questions arising from stakeholders and Anti Bribery and Corruption teammates, ensuring investigations functions are engaged when required, and providing read‑across to ensure lessons are learned and incorporated into the FC oversight Oversee the implementation of the Bank’s Anti Bribery and Corruption strategy, policy and standards, systems and procedures at the country level Participate in relevant local risk oversight forums and committees Provide advisory services to the business in order to ensure clear understanding of Anti Bribery and Corruption risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products Support Regional Anti Bribery and Corruption in developing the Anti Bribery and Corruption Policy, procedures and systems to ensure that HSBC’s exposure to Anti Bribery and Corruption risk is managed in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost effective manner Provide guidance to Global Businesses/Infrastructure and support the implementation of the Global FC Policy – AB&C requirements Perform effective risk stewardship in line with NFR roles and responsibilities Support Global Businesses/Infrastructure and wider FC team to upskill their AB&C knowledge locally Customer/Stakeholders Lead / liaison with relevant stakeholder within Global / Regional and relevant internal team and external (local) authorities/regulators to provide expertise and support on all AB&C FC risk related matters Responsible for ensuring that appropriate, timely and relevant risk information is provided to stakeholders and Risk Management forums Develop and maintain a strong and professional working relationship with relevant stakeholders within Risk and Compliance, Audit and Finance at Business and market level Update the Head of AML or accountable risk steward, on AB&C matters Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across Global Businesses/Functions and market, and local authorities and regulators as required Operational Effectiveness and Control Focus on aligning the HSBC operating practices with changes in Global FC Policy relating to AB&C and regulatory risk and ensure that the FC Risk Framework remains appropriate Work closely with stakeholders to ensure Anti Bribery and Corruption controls are embedded in BAU Support the development and oversight of monitoring mechanisms to ensure embedding is effectively tracked Proactively identify, manage and mitigate control failures and cases involving bribery or corruption and enhance the control framework (including working with first line of defence) in relation to Anti Bribery and Corruption Ensure that Anti Bribery and Corruption controls are aligned to the Group’s strategy Support day‑to‑day management and assist Head of AML Risk Stewardship in managing the AMH AB&C team, including establishing relevant governance and oversight activities Provide oversight of specific priority areas, for example alignment of RCAs Ensure AB&C risks and issues are escalated to the relevant governance forums in a timely manner Ensure that the Head of AML Risk Stewardship is kept informed of key AB&C risks and issues Resolve any/all identified issues promptly and escalate concerns to management as appropriate to ensure timely awareness of any material concern Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Global FC Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting Ability to interpret regulatory developments and advise on its impact to business, provision of practical and compliant solutions Ability to deal with Senior Management and Business in a professional and proactive manner Leadership & Teamwork Work as an active contributor to broader Group and Asia Anti Bribery and Corruption initiatives Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior stakeholders at the Group, Regional and Local levels Ability to clearly communicate AB&C advice in relation to requirements and regulation to meet business needs Assist the Head of AML in providing direction at a market level with respect to the AB&C operating environment and framework Influence through action and leadership with respect to Group/Regional/Market AML AB&C activities Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, leadership & line management experience, and rapid learning capability Share best practice with teams in the regions and globally Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers at the Group, Regional and Market levels. Lead by example, demonstrating excellent behaviours in line with HSBC core values Work effectively as part of a team, taking the lead where appropriate and contributing to team output and collaboration Foster a learning agile culture, promoting proactive review of lessons learned. Ensures effective and open communication, team building, knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring not only within the function but to the broader organisation To be successful you will need: Significant experience and a proven track record of delivery in Anti bribery and Corruption risk management and controls Extensive knowledge of Anti bribery and corruption regulations and guidance Proven self‑starter with ability to spot issues across a range of risk areas Significant experience as a compliance manager within an international firm, in the financial services industry or as a senior regulator in a relevant field Excellent communication and inter‑personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels Ability to develop practical, risk‑based solutions to complex challenges Understanding of how controls address the underlying FC Risk and associated aspects forming the overall Risk Management framework. Ability to develop efficient and effective solutions to complex operational issues. Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and problem solve in a dynamic environment. Track record of resilience and confident challenge when in dealing with business stakeholders to influence change. Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management. Ability to work independently on distinct tasks, escalating as appropriate. A background or strong understanding of operational risk is highly desirable. Speaking Cantonese is preferable.
