The Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability initiatives across the corporate hospitality group to minimize the environmental impact and promote eco-friendly practices. This role involves collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders to create innovative solutions aligned with the organization's sustainability goals. The Sustainability Manager will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, educate employees on sustainable practices, and drive positive change to enhance the group's reputation as a leader in environmental responsibility.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Sustainability Strategy Development:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy to align with the organization's vision and long-term goals.
    • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and sustainable sourcing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, procurement, marketing) to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations.
    • Build partnerships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, NGOs, and local communities, to support sustainability goals.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and certifications relevant to the hospitality industry.
    • Develop and present sustainability reports, including metrics on carbon footprint, waste management, and energy usage.
  • Employee Education and Training:
    • Design and deliver sustainability training programs for employees at all levels to foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
    • Act as an internal advocate for sustainability, encouraging staff to adopt eco-friendly practices.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead sustainability projects, such as green building initiatives, renewable energy adoption, and waste management programs.
    • Monitor project progress, evaluate success, and recommend improvements.
  • Sustainable Procurement:
    • Work with the procurement team to source sustainable products and services.
    • Evaluate suppliers based on their environmental practices and certifications.
  • Innovation and Research:
    • Stay updated on sustainability trends, technologies, and best practices in the hospitality industry.
    • Propose innovative solutions to reduce the organization's environmental impact.
PERSON REQUIREMENT:
  • Field of Study:
    • Sustainability Management
    • Hospitality Management with a focus on Sustainability
    • Business Administration with a focus on Environmental Studies
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in sustainability management, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, or corporate sector.
  • Area of Experience:
    • Experience in implementing environmental policies and managing sustainability projects.
    • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and sustainability reporting.
  • Other Professional Qualifications / Technical Skills / Knowledge required:
    • Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and sustainability standards (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED certification, or similar).
    • Expertise in carbon footprint measurement, waste management, and energy-efficient practices.
    • Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, CDP, or similar.
    • Project management skills, including budgeting, planning, and execution.
    • Data analysis skills to track sustainability metrics and prepare reports.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sustainability-related software/tools.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.
