About our Banking and Coverage team Banking and Coverage owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally. Our bankers work across the global network together with our product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and markets solutions for our clients. The solutions cover a wide range of products and services from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory. About Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) For more than 170 years we’ve supported clients with their transaction banking, financial markets, corporate finance and borrowing needs and provide solutions to nearly 20,000 clients in the world’s fastest‑growing economies and most active trade corridors. Key Responsibilities To manage and grow the customer portfolio to meet business targets. To act as the lead banker for deals involving direct client dialogues in Hong Kong. To actively engage in the whole deal process, including screening, structuring, pitching, approval, execution and monitoring. Demonstrate internal leadership to arrive at a solution‑based approach by integrating the relevant product partners. Independently come up with account plans for individual customer groups. Enhance cross‑selling of the bank’s products in line with the account plans, focusing on the maximisation of return criteria set by the bank. Maintain a high‑quality credit profile for the managed portfolio with close monitoring of the customers’ financial performances and keeping abreast of the latest market conditions. Be the major responsible officer for the proposed credits, making sure the credit analysis is robust, proper approvals are obtained and required reviews and monitoring are done in due course. Be eloquent in presenting and pushing the case through the credit approval chain. Undergo proactive asset portfolio management with an aim to enhance balance‑sheet efficiency in line with the bank’s internal guidance and account strategies. Skills and Experience Over 10 years’ experience in Coverage role; preferred to have relevant experience in China Corporate coverage. Risk management, financial and credit analysis. Experienced in using and adapting to client behaviours and preferences. Uses business acumen, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of client onboarding, local market nuances and the regulatory landscape. Works effectively with ambiguity, in a dynamic environment.
