Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications Hong Kong Microelectronics Research and Development Institute (MRDI) is established to seize the huge potential market for third-generation semiconductors and align with the national strategy for technological development. The vision is for the MRDI to play a leading role in strengthening collaboration with the industry, academia, and research sectors, expediting the "1 to N" transformation of scientific research outcomes, promoting technological innovation, and assisting the industry in enhancing efficiency as well as achieving upgrading and transformation. The MRDI is looking for a dynamic and high‑calibre professional to fill the position of Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications. Job Responsibilities Overall Scope Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for effective internal and external communication at MRDI, encompassing corporate and marketing initiatives aligned with MRDI's vision, mission, and goals. Maintain brand consistency across all communication channels and materials. Conduct market research and analysis to gain insights into industry trends, competitors and target audiences. Responsible for managing tasks assigned by the department head, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to support the department’s needs. Corporate Communication Develop and implement media relations strategies to enhance MRDI's visibility and reputation; coordinate and conduct media interviews and press events. Proactively pitch stories and news releases to media outlets, securing positive coverage for MRDI; prepare key executives and subject matter experts for media engagements and public speaking opportunities. Foster and sustain strong relationships with internal teams, ensuring effective dissemination of information; create and distribute internal newsletters, memos and announcements to keep employees informed and engaged. Oversee the development of corporate communication materials, including presentations, reports, and press releases. Marketing Communication Develop and implement integrated marketing communication plans and ensure the timely delivery of marketing communication materials to promote MRDI's initiatives, products and services. Create compelling content for various channels, including but not limited to free and paid advertising, social media, brochures, whitepapers, and case studies. Manage MRDI's online presence, including the company website and social media channels, ensuring appealing, accurate and up-to-date information. Oversee and coordinate as a project manager of organization‑wide conferences, industry events, and trade shows, including booth design, collateral production and speaker arrangements. Brand Management Enforce brand guidelines to ensure adherence throughout the organisation. Monitor and respond to public perception, managing any potential reputational risks. Support the development of MRDI's brand identity through creative initiatives and campaigns. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or above. • Proven experience of 3 years or above working in a similar role; relevant work experience in the technology or research sector / public organisation / government department is a plus. • Strong written and verbal communication skills (including English, Cantonese and Putonghua), with exceptional attention to detail. • Proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms; strong data analysis skills to optimise social media strategies based on metrics. • Experienced and knowledgeable in online and offline media strategy, planning and buying. • Proven ability to oversee all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting and on‑site coordination. • Strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills. • Media network connections preferred. • Experience in crisis communication and issues management is desirable. • Knowledge in website development would be advantageous. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A gratuity of 15% of the salary will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the contract. The incumbent will normally work five days a week. The initial employment contract spans 12 months and can be renewed with a longer tenure upon mutual agreement of the incumbent and MRDI.
