Senior Regional Sales Director - Trade Finance Solutions JAPAC Lead Enterprise Trade Finance Software & Platform Sales & Drive Cloud Innovation Across Japan & APAC NOTE: THE POSITION WILL BE BASED IN SINGAPORE WORK PERMIT IS SPONSORED Our client is a global FinTech leader providing mission-critical Trade Finance and Transaction Banking Software and Platforms to financial institutions worldwide. Their modular, API-enabled technology supports end-to-end workflows across documentary trade, guarantees, collections, and supply chain finance — and is trusted by Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks around the world. As part of continued JAPAC expansion, we are seeking a high-impact Regional Sales Director to drive large enterprise transformation deals, especially within Japan’s megabanks, while also scaling adoption of the client’s next-generation cloud-based trade finance collaboration capabilities , designed to enhance and modernize traditional on-premise systems. Travel: Extensive across JAPAC with strong Japan focus Languages: English + Professional Japanese (mandatory) Reports to: Global Commercial Leadership Why This Role Matters This is a senior, strategic role shaping the digitalization of trade finance across one of the world’s most important banking regions. The successful candidate will: Lead multi-million USD enterprise sales Drive hybrid transformation (on-premise solutions + cloud augmentation) Influence regional go-to-market strategy and product direction Engage at the highest levels within Japanese and APAC financial institutions Play a key role in accelerating the client’s growth and market share across JAPAC This opportunity is ideal for a respected, well-connected enterprise sales leader in Transaction Banking. What You Will Do Own and drive the full commercial lifecycle across JAPAC: pipeline generation, qualification, pursuit strategy, negotiations, and closing Lead major on-premise trade finance solution sales into Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks Promote and expand adoption of cloud-based trade finance collaboration modules that complement existing core systems and enhance workflow automation Build trusted relationships with C-suite, GM-level, and senior operations/IT stakeholders across the region Develop and execute structured regional go-to-market plans aligned with JAPAC priorities Drive strategic pursuits within Japanese megabanks (Red / Blue / Green groups) Partner with Product, Presales, Delivery, and Marketing teams to craft compelling proposals and solution strategies Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline governance, and regular executive reporting What You Bring 15+ years of enterprise Transaction Banking solution sales , including at least 10 years in Trade Finance Solutions Strong experience selling on-premise enterprise banking systems with complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles Proven ability to introduce and sell cloud or SaaS-based trade finance components that complement legacy systems Deep domain understanding of trade finance workflows including: Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs, Guarantees, Documentary Collections Supply Chain Finance & open-account trade Trade operations (front, middle, back office) Compliance, documentation, SWIFT/ISO standards Established, senior-level network within Japanese megabanks (Red / Blue / Green groups) Demonstrated experience closing large enterprise deals (USD 1–5M+) Strong understanding of enterprise procurement, RFP cycles, InfoSec reviews, and technical evaluation processes Fluent English + mandatory Japanese proficiency Ability to work effectively in a global matrix environment Travel needed at least 50% of the time to Japan Preferred Industry Background Ideal candidates will have held senior roles at leading enterprise banking and trade finance technology providers such as: China Systems, Finastra, CGI, Intellect Design Arena, Nucleus Software, TCS BaNCS, OFSS / Oracle Financial Services Software, Infosys Finacle, Temenos, FIS, Fiserv, Sopra Banking Software, Kyriba, Bottomline, SAP, Loxon Solutions, BML Istisharat, MonetaGo, TradeSun, LiquidX, Bolero, NTT Data, Nomura Research Institute (NRI), Hitachi Consulting, Fujitsu, Accenture Japan, Deloitte Japan, EY Japan, PwC Japan , or similar organizations.
