Overview The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases exquisite artefacts from Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7,800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities, and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations. (This is a fixed‑term contract position of 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.) Responsibilities Assisting the supervisor on a variety of writing, editing, editorial calendar planning, workflow coordination, fact checking, source verification, and information research; Supporting the monitoring and reviewing of production details of publications, articles, multimedia content, online text, or other written materials; Coordinating with other teams within the Museum and relevant Departments under the Authority to ensure the content and materials align with standards and requirements; Liaising with vendors—including writers, translators, copy‑editors, and others—to ensure the writing materials are provided within the specified timeline and with high quality; Supporting the team in document management, scheduling meetings, and procurement processes; Performing any duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by HKPM. Qualifications Possess a recognised university degree in Languages, Literature, Art History, History, Journalism, or other relevant disciplines; Have at least 3 years of experience in publication or editing related to art or culture; proficiency in InDesign and typesetting is a plus; Have solid editing experience in creating innovative and solid publications for the general public in English or Chinese in the arts and cultural fields; English language editorial and translation skills are highly preferable; Have experience collaborating with different internal and external stakeholders and conducting research, checking, and verifying facts; Demonstrate good editing or copywriting skills, attentiveness to detail, and a can‑do attitude; Be creative, mature, independent, and a problem‑solver; Have a good understanding of project and budget management; Be proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
