Job SUMMARY:

This role will be responsible for the Risk Management oversight of Hong Kong and China, and report to the Regional Head of Risk Management, Asia Pacific Region (APR). The key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and execution of the ERM framework and ensure alignment with internal risk guidelines.
  • Oversee risk assessments and mitigation strategies across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with risk-related policies and support the Compliance Team on regulatory matters.
  • Manage ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) to evaluate solvency and capital adequacy.
  • Prepare regular risk reports and communicate key risks to senior management.
  • Develop crisis and incident management plans and lead response to significant risk events.
  • Other tasks as needed by the business and management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • ERM Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain ERM processes to align with internal policies and industry standards, ensuring business units follow risk guidelines.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and mitigate credit, operational, and emerging risks, working with teams to ensure proper implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory & Guidelines: Ensure adherence to ERM guidelines and collaborate with the Compliance Team on legal and regulatory alignment (HKMA, Insurance Authority).
  • ORSA: Lead Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) to assess the company's solvency and capital adequacy, aligning outcomes with strategic goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare risk reports for senior management and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.
  • Incident Management: Lead crisis management plans for financial, operational, and cyber risks, ensuring effective incident resolution.
  • Training: Provide ERM and risk management training to foster a risk-aware culture across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to enhance risk management processes.
Qualifications and Requirements: EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, FRM, or CISA are a plus.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the insurance, financial services, or credit insurance sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks, risk assessment techniques, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards, such as ORSA and Cyber Risk Management.
  • Previous experience in Hong Kong or APAC markets is highly desirable.
SKILLS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with senior management and various stakeholders.
LANGUAGE
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin preferred.
