A senior-level professional seeks a skilled chef for events and receptions, as well as daily meal preparation. The chef will be responsible for planning and preparing menus for events, including breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, and receptions. The chef must be able to prepare international and local cuisine, including a broad range of hors d’oeuvres, appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The job requires the ability to manage a limited budget effectively. Candidates should be creative, and capable of a diverse array of menus. Familiarity with wine and spirits is helpful, but not essential. The chef must be available to work flexible hours, including regular evening hours and occasional work on weekends and holidays. Chef Responsibilities Developing and preparing menus for official events and daily use, based on supervisor preference, dietary restrictions, and budgetary requirements Shopping for ingredients as well as necessary kitchen tools and equipment Ensuring the quality and safety of all ingredients Preparing meals in the residence’s kitchen in accordance with food health and safety regulations, and industry standard practices Cleaning and sanitizing work areas before and after meal preparation Appropriately packaging and labeling prepared meals Chef Requirements High school diploma and professional culinary training Proven culinary experience Discretion and professionalism Sound knowledge of international and local cuisines, as well as food health and safety regulations A strong understanding of nutrition Excellent organizational and time management skills, flexible and adaptable Effective communication skills, written and spoken English Exceptional customer service skills and teamwork with other residence staff #J-18808-Ljbffr
