Senior Associate, Data/Business Analyst, Customer Proposition Analytics, Institutional Banking (WD79529) Job Description – Transformation & Data (T&D) supports our management on the implementation of the Group’s agenda. The Data Chapter, organized under T&D, is committed to creating synergies between data analytics functions across the bank, establishing centres of excellence, shared services, and reusable data assets, as well as enhancing career opportunities and a sense of community for data professionals. Business Function As the leading bank in Asia, the Data Chapter focuses on delivering transformative analytics solutions that drive business growth and mitigate risk within Institutional Banking. Responsibilities Design and develop analytics with meaningful insights, including but not limited to modeling, to drive business growth and mitigate risk for Institutional Banking. Explore data sources and conduct exploratory data analysis. Identify data relevant to the problems to solve and create features that add analytical value. Collaborate with stakeholders to propose and evaluate actions for performance improvements. Develop business analytics capabilities in line with identified use cases. Build visualization and dashboards to bring analytics results to life for communicating with stakeholders. Be a persuasive storyteller to communicate analytics results to stakeholders in plain language. Requirements Degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Engineering, or related disciplines. Related accreditation obtained via MOOC or other education institutions is a plus. 5+ years of experience in data analytics. Functional / technical competencies: Conversant with working on tremendous volumes of data, capable of drawing insights and designing solutions including but not limited to data science contexts. Sound knowledge in statistics, with data analytics techniques such as predictive, prescriptive, and machine learning. Working knowledge of data wrangling in Python to perform analysis independently. Working knowledge of building visualizations and dashboards. Experience in Qlikview / Qlik Sense is a plus. Banking domain knowledge is a plus. Experience in cloud computing (e.g., Cloudera, AWS) and big data computation frameworks (e.g., Spark) is a plus. Ability to navigate a complex environment to drive outcomes with stakeholders. Ability to clearly articulate data deliverables in a manner easily understood in oral and written format. Collaborative spirit to help business with a can‑do attitude. Passion for new technologies and an eagerness to learn. Proficient in English and Chinese.
