Senior Manager – Regulatory (Long Term Life Insurance Business – Group-wide
Supervision)
(Multi-year contract)
Based in Hong Kong
(English is a must. Cantonese/ Chinese is also preferred)
Reporting to the Associate Director (Group-wide Supervision), the incumbent will assume the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Head and manage a team of regulatory / compliance professionals
- Exercise prudential supervision of major insurance groups under the group-wide supervision framework ensuring the effective delivery of forward-looking and risk-based supervision of major insurance groups and businesses
- Monitor the compliance with legislation requirements, rules and guidelines on major insurance groups in Hong Kong
- Co-ordinate with industry, professional and international bodies on matters relating to the regulation and development of the life insurance industry
- Organize supervisory colleges and liaise with fellow insurance regulators and other financial regulators on prudential supervision of life insurers, and in performing group wide supervision of major insurance groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management to facilitate the administration of the statutory functions of the Client Company
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in accounting, actuarial science, finance, insurance or related disciplines
- Minimum 8 years & relevant work experience in life insurance or regulatory fields
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and international supervisory standards, insurance products, insurance companies’ operations and market dynamics relating to the insurance business, and the ability to proactively identify risks and exercise good judgement in determining effective strategies for the supervision of major insurance groups. Regulatory experience with local or overseas insurance regulatory agency will be considered favorably.
- Strong analytical, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a can-do attitude
- Excellent command of written and spoken English. Chinese language ability is an advantage.
Those that have not worked within the Insurance Industry recently but have worked for Wealth management or similar firms that sells life insurance products as an intermediary are also welcome to apply.
Those from professional compliance consultancies that have significant Life insurance firms
regulatory consulting experience are welcome to apply too.
Please note: This is a senior Manager position, suitable for someone with around 5-9 years
Compliance / IA/ Regulatory experience and not a head of position.
Remuneration Salary/ Package:
A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the successful candidate’s
experience and qualifications on a 3-year contract will be offered.
