About Us: A newly established Chinese Corporate Bank, with a team of fewer than 100 people, exclusively focused on Corporate Banking in Hong Kong. The office is located in the heart of Central, providing a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Legal and Compliance to lead our dedicated team of professionals. This role is crucial in ensuring our bank's operations adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, while also providing strategic guidance on compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 6-8 professionals, including specialists in general compliance, AML, Legal, Tech risk, and operational risk.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance and legal frameworks to ensure adherence to local and international regulations.
- Provide expert legal advice and support to senior management and various departments within the bank.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to mitigate legal and compliance risks.
- Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory changes on the bank's operations and ensure timely compliance.
- Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders as required.
- Proven experience in a senior legal and compliance role within the banking or financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong's regulatory environment and corporate banking operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly desirable.
