Job Description
  1. Manage a team of total 10 – 20 IT professionals, playing a leading role in the design, development, and implementation of a state-of-the-art transaction processing and analytics system.
  2. Oversee and lead the requirement analysis, design, development, code review, development testing, deployment, and software documentation for the project.
  3. Define development tasks, monitor delivery tasks, and report the progress.
  4. Hire, coach, and mentor team members to ensure excellent maintenance of a competent workforce.
  5. Anticipate project risks, give early warnings, and suggest solutions for delivery tasks.
  6. Prioritize resources with tight and changing deadlines.
  7. Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time.
  8. Manage external vendors on solution integration and compliance with standards, overseeing and measuring the fulfillment of the vendor's contractual obligations.
  9. Seek opportunities to constantly improve work practices and processes.
  10. Communicate frequently with executive leadership to provide project status and analysis of requirements that might impact strategic direction.
  11. Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
  12. Assure that the department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
Job Requirements
  1. University graduate with a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. A minimum of 7 years' experience in information systems design, software development, IT management, and project management.
  3. A minimum of 2 years' experience in team management of a medium-sized software team (~10 developers) with a track record in leading the delivery of complex system development projects.
  4. Hands-on experience in developing and deploying large-scale analytics systems is required.
  5. Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  6. Experience in an Agile development environment.
  7. Good understanding of Object-Oriented programming skills, with Python, PHP, or Java preferred.
  8. Experience with NoSQL or RDBMS platforms - MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or Redshift.
  9. Strong team leader with strong interpersonal skills who can work under pressure, independently, and proactively.
  10. Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving, and change management skills.
  11. Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative, with the ability to work on own initiative.
  12. Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  13. Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
