About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Retail Payments and Cross Border Payments, with a focus on the APAC region (SG, HK, MY). This role requires a deep understanding of global payment systems, technology, and regulatory environments, alongside strong leadership and problem-solving skills to drive complex projects. The Senior Payments Consultant will play a key role in managing teams, liaising with clients, and providing high-level expertise in payments-related solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Client Engagements: Serve as the client's trusted advisor in payments, managing relationships and providing deep domain expertise across Retail Payments, Cross Border Payments, and Cash Management technologies.
  • Capture Business Requirements: Lead discussions with payments business and operations teams to capture business requirements and objectives, ensuring alignment with client needs.
  • Solution Delivery: Work collaboratively with client executives and project teams to deliver end-to-end solutions, from business requirement gathering and solution design through to delivery and implementation.
  • Client Consultation & Documentation: Translate complex business requirements into formal agreements and documentation, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with client expectations.
  • Project Management Support: Collaborate with Project Managers to equip them with detailed plans, ensuring timely execution of the project within budget and scope. Present to steering committees and senior management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with payments industry regulations in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, and manage risk mitigation strategies in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation & Strategy: Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies in payments, including Open Banking, PSD2, SWIFT, and DLT.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 5 years experience in the payments industry, with expertise in Retail and Cross Border Payments.
  • Languages: Can speak Cantonese to work with Cantonese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of global payments trends, regulatory compliance, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT, ACH, RTGS).
    • Hands-on exposure to Clearing & Settlement Systems (RTGS, ACH, Singapore MEPS+/FAST, Hong Kong CHATS/FPS, etc.).
    • Familiarity with Corporate Internet Banking, Direct Channels (Host2Host file transfers), Mobile Banking, and Payments Service Providers (PSPs).
    • Experience with payments products such as Finastra-GPP, FIS Clear2Pay-OPF, ACI-MTS, TCSBancs Payments, and others.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex projects in the financial services sector, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and mentor teams, ensure timely delivery, and navigate high-stakes situations with senior management.
  • Communication Skills: High-impact presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate solutions to clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive, creative approach to finding solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of APAC's banking and payments landscape, specifically in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
  • Experience in managing technology programs for Retail Payments, FAST, and Cross Border payments.
  • A solid understanding of the latest regulatory requirements for payments in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
