FP&A collaborates with leaders and management teams, providing trusted financial and strategic advice to drive business growth and profitability. By creating, tracking and analyzing budgets, forecasts and financial results, they develop performance insights that contribute to critical business decision making and strategic plans.

POSITION SCOPE

What can you expect?

  • Be a core member of the Asia Pacific FP&A team and supporting the regional FP&A team.
  • The purpose of this role is primarily to support the Asia Pacific FP&A finance team in the preparation, distribution and ongoing improvement of financial management information for consolidated results in Guy Carpenter APAC. This will include monthly actual results, forecasting, and the annual budgeting process.
  • This role will require a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience in working in a matrix organization. Stakeholders include but are not limited to: APAC business leaders, finance colleagues across the globe and operations team.

We will count on you to:

  • Ensure accuracy in the delivery and improvement of management information for APAC business leader(s).
  • Provide analysis of monthly results and explanation of key variances (vs forecast, vs budget, vs prior year) with key insights into trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure data accuracy including synchronizing of various data sets between the reporting and planning environments and reconciling any differences to resolve data/ reporting issues.
  • Ensure revenue is correctly reported and adheres to revenue recognition policy.
  • Consolidate forecasts from country inputs and rollover results into forecast.
  • Assist in the system input as well as conduct checks to ensure completeness.
  • Support and actively contribute to process change/improvement and standardization initiatives with the team.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, business or economics.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a multinational company performing financial analysis and management reporting.
  • A good understanding of databases/ data warehouses and financial applications.
  • Organized, comfortable working with large data sets across multiple sources.
  • Analytical and systematic with good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be hands-on during the month-end closing processes.
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office specially Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English and Cantonese/ Mandarin.
  • Prior experience in insurance/ reinsurance industry and exposure to regional markets including Greater China, South East Asia and Australia is preferred
