Data Center Engineering Operations Tech Associate, HKG

Key job responsibilities
•Act as interface with the Colocation provider’s technical and facility teams to address day-to-day operational requirements;
•Act as interface with on-site Colocation providers and respective contractors, to ensure all works performed is complied with established practices, procedures & local legislation;
•Monitor Colocation suppliers to conduct routine maintenance, and respond to emergency services for critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.;
•Generate change management requests & incident management tickets for Data Center facility
•Engage in non-office on-call responsibilities and respond promptly to emergency situations or incident, such as power failures or natural disasters, and review to refine the established Emergency Operations Procedures to effectively handle these situations;
•Involve with Colocation provider and contractors to resolve infrastructure engineering issues and conduct root cause analysis for operational issues;
•Partake improvements to enhance the data center safety, security and availability;
•Facilitate installation of the racks and conduct the rack space, power/cooling assessment.
A day in the life
Also expected from the EOT is the ability to execute small-to-medium impacting projects from conception to completion. These projects involve moderate amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in controlled environments. The EOT will be tasked with creating and delivering on key milestones, obtaining and tracking quotes for all necessary costs, and documenting project results. The goals of such projects are to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
•Join the 7x24 operations. Flexibility for changes to work schedule depending on specific site needs. Shifts can be up to 12-hours and may rotate on a predefined schedule.
•Providing timely escalation for all facilities-related issues within the data center
•First-line troubleshooting and reporting of facility and high-criticality events within a pre-determined service level agreement (SLA)
•Providing assistance to junior and peer EOTs
•Oversight of third-party vendors to ensure that all work performed is in accordance with established safety protocols, best practices, and local legislation
•Utilization of administrative tools for change management, ticketing, and asset management.
•Supporting project/stakeholder team and vendor activities
•Overseeing of all Commissioning activities
•Completion of assigned project tasks and managing associated reporting metrics
•Engagement of other supporting teams for issue resolution
•Ensuring compliance of AWS Data Center safety and security protocols
•Involve in day-to-day data center facility operations work including facility change management
•Involve in vendor management and technical consultation work
•Review emergency and standard operating procedures
•Participate in facility event analysis
•Participate in emergency drills and emergency facility event response
•Participate in local and global facility operations-related projects
•Participate in multiple cross-team trainings
•Be provided an opportunity to drive operational excellence and better customer experience.
About the team
The Data Center Engineering Operations Team is a group committed to maintaining the critical data center infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the facility's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems operate at near 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the supporting teams and key stakeholders of the data centers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree- 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
- Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)- Knowledge of BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
- 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
