Assistant Officer(s)
The Department of Medicine and Therapeutics is currently seeking motivated and collaborative Assistant Officers with a strong sense of responsibility to join the team. The appointee(s) will carry the functional title of ‘Assistant Officer’ (at the rank of Project Assistant II) and will be stationed at the CUHK office within the Prince of Wales Hospital premises.
Post A: The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing support to the administration of the Diploma of Advances in Medicine programme as well as other academic programmes and the organisation of Medical Council Licensing Examination and other clinical examinations; (b) serving as secretary to clinical academic staff (duties may include calendar management, communication with private patients, processing payments and reimbursements, etc.); (c) liaising with academic departments and administrative units of the University and external parties; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned. Having experience in examination or programme administration, and/or experience working as an executive assistant will be an advantage.
Post B: The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing clerical and administrative support to department events, including but not limited to academic conferences, departmental meetings, social events, professional clinical examinations, etc.; (b) serving as the secretary to clinical academic staff (duties may include calendar management, communication with private patients, processing payments and reimbursements, etc.); (c) liaising with academic departments and administrative units of the University and external parties; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned. Previous experience in event management, examination administration, and/or experience working as an executive assistant will be an advantage.
Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education or above; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, “Attained” or above in AL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) fast and accurate typing skill; (iv) a good command of both written and spoken Chinese and English; (v) high proficiency in computer applications, especially in MS Excel; (vi) a willing-to-learn work attitude with attentiveness to details, and good communication and interpersonal skills; and (vii) the ability to work independently with strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
Applicants must submit copies of HKCEE/HKDSE certificates showing that they have fulfilled the language requirements and/or academic qualifications stated above, otherwise their applications may NOT be considered.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to performance, operational needs, and mutual agreement.
