The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Officer (Curriculum Development) to join our thriving project team under a three-year project entitled “AI-assisted Virtual Reality English Public Speaking Program for Secondary Students”. This project has been awarded HK$30.4 million in teaching and learning funding from the e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme under the Quality Education Fund (QEF).

Responsibilities:

Develop and design an innovative curriculum for the AI-VR English public speaking program, incorporating effective pedagogical approaches;Collaborate with researchers, faculty members and education experts to align the curriculum with project objectives, ensuring it meets educational standards and addresses the needs of secondary students;Create detailed course outlines, syllabi, and learning materials that integrate virtual reality experiences and foster effective English public speaking skills;Identify and select appropriate teaching methodologies, resources and tools to enhance the learning experience and maximize the potential of virtual reality technology;Regularly review and update the curriculum to incorporate feedback, address emerging challenges, and reflect advancements in virtual reality and language learning;Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of the curriculum, including scheduling classes, organizing workshops and facilitating collaborative projects;Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum through assessments, feedback collection and performance reviews, making necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes;Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote the adoption of the AI-VR English speaking program through various channels, including social media, press releases; and public presentations; andSupport the organization and coordination of conferences, workshops and other events related to the AI-VR English public speaking program.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in education, language education or a related field;Experienced in curriculum development and industrial training;Interested in VR and AI in education, language education and edu-tech development;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team;Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; andFluency in English and Chinese.
