We are currently seeking candidates for the position of

Professional Services Engineer role in Hong Kong.The primary responsibility for individuals in this position is to install hardware and software, configure systems, and tune solutions which have been designed in Hong Kong or there may be the requirement to perform these tasks by being physically on a customer site. With the company direction to minimize on-site work, individuals in this position may be required to supervise "Smart Hands" technicians while they perform on-site hardware installation tasks. Individuals in this position may also be required to remotely connect to systems in Chatsworth and perform software installation, configuration, and tuning prior to the system shipping from the factory.This is a highly technical position responsible for:ImplementationSupportDuties and Responsibilities:According to the company's business plan, actively carry out support maintenance work in HK.Able to install, support and debug the production environment and provide L1 technical support.Have considerable knowledge of Lustre file system operations, disk based storage, operating system, networking, troubleshooting technique, and performance tuning.Responsible to liaise with sales and engineering teams for problem resolution.Manager support work is done via e-mail, remote access, phone, and on-site.Demonstrate a thorough technical understanding of clients' needs, including how those pertain to DDN products and services.Clearly communicate complex technical topics to the varied knowledge levels of external customers.Develop positive and trustworthy relationships with customers.Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, ensuring all objectives are accomplished.Prepare status report of activities to manager if and when required.Help expand professional services offerings outside of DDN product offerings, helping to develop products, process, and procedures to facilitate engagements.Provide weekly status report of activities to manager and participate in weekly staff calls.Participate in product testing and documentation reviews.Must be able and willing to travel occasionally.Qualifications:

BSc or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Sciences; or equivalent is required.Skills and Experience:Minimum Requirements: Must have 5+ years experience in HPC industry. Experience support management efforts is essential to success in this position.Technical Expectations: The following are preferred technical requirements: Lustre, Linux OS, Unix OS, SCSI, NAS, and SAN. Knowledge and experience with Perl, Shell Scripting, and C/C++ is a plus.3-5 years experience in SAN infrastructure and Excellent troubleshooting skills (Brocade, QLogic switches).Must have in-depth technical knowledge and problem analysis skills.Good understanding of the technical fundamentals of the system infrastructure including open system platforms (UNIX, Linux, Windows), networking, and file system.Good verbal and written communication skills in English.Responds to all customer requests in a timely manner, while maintaining accuracy.DDN has a very strong orientation towards these 4 characteristics and any successful employee will demonstrate these capabilities:Self-Starter:
