Director, Group Strategy (Hong Kong, Singapore)18894 Regular Employee Hybrid6 Feb 2025 Job Summary As a Director, Group Strategy within the team, you will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the Group, collaborating closely with the highest-level stakeholders in the bank. Our scope of work is extensive; we assist the Board and senior management in grasping crucial industry trends and their implications, while also engaging directly with leadership teams across various business segments, geographies, and functions to establish their strategic priorities and implementation plans. The nature of our work is project-based, and in your role as a Director, you will oversee and guide the projects you manage daily, typically working alongside a team of 1-2 Associates or Associate Directors. You will collaborate with strategy leaders in the team based on the specific expertise needed for each project. Key Responsibilities Strategy
• To help to shape the strategic agenda of the Group, working closely with the key senior stakeholders of the bank.
• Support the Board and top management to understand key industry trends and their implications, and also work directly with the leadership teams in business segments, geographies and functions to define their strategic priorities and implementation plans.
• Work closely with the strategy leaders within the team according to the relevant expertise required for the project. Business
• Support the Strategy LT who will support the Business CEOs, Functional MT members and their directs across the organisation in developing business and function strategies consistent with the Group's overall strategy, such that collectively they deliver the Group's objectives.
• Develop and manage processes to ensure these strategies are converted into executable business plans. Processes
• Lead, develop, implement and track business initiatives/projects on behalf of the Line Manager.
• Liaising with business (CIB, WRB & functional teams viz Technology, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, HR as appropriate) across the bank, support the design, review, and roll-out of Operations scorecards.
• Provide input to the development of end-to-end scalable infrastructure and processes to execute business processes. Risk Management
• Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group related to the Strategy. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
• Support the Strategy team in owning strategic risk within the Group's Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Support, design and manage effective processes. Governance
• Prepare reports, presentations, papers, and review material to support discussions and decision making at various forums, mainly for Group MT, PLC Board, etc. This will involve consolidating and integrating material from various sources and ensuring the final output is fit for purpose and aligned with the requirements.
• Coordinate and support business engagements or ad-hoc requirements with other teams/partners in the Bank and external parties (i.e. consultants, vendors, auditors, regulators, clients, media/publications, etc).
• Liaising with Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing teams, facilitate both internal and external communication on behalf of the Line Manager (e.g., business update, town halls, press release, Bridge, media interviews) as well as brand/marketing related activities (e.g., client events, industry/proprietary forums). This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
