Your New RoleThis list of duties is not exhaustive and may change from time to time according to business needs:
Support preparation of the month-end process for the Balance Sheet reconciliationsPlan and deliver component entity Audits for Asia and Middle East and filing of accounts to agreed timetables and regulatory deadlinesImprove controls and the operational control environment of the businessProvide thought leadership to the finance organisation to build a best-in-class functionReview legal entity agreements and relationships and ensure the accounting follows the structure of the agreementsStrengthen end-to-end client invoicing processes, in partnership with Finance OperationsPartnering with the FP&A and FBP in Finance that have Asia and Middle East responsibilitiesPrioritisation of resource against key financial objectivesEnsure compliance with company standards, policies, and proceduresOther ad-hoc duties as requiredTeam management responsibilities, including coaching and supportWhat will you need to succeed in this role?We are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for:
3-5 years minimum post-qualified experience having worked in Financial Control roles in industry, preferably in a blue-chip companyHold an Accounting qualificationExperience of people management and developmentStrong Financial Controls background:
have a great understanding and experience in Financial Controls within the financial services environment; able to work together to implement good financial controlsStrong technical background:
able to appreciate the nuanced nature of technical accounting, taxation, and regulations; and able to work with experts to get the right answer to technical issuesGood project/programme management skills and self-organisation:
demonstrates the ability to prioritise deliverables, design processes, and co-ordinate people to deliver desired outcomesBusiness acumen:
understands the objectives of and works with commercial (front office) business partners at the highest level (regional CEOs, COOs, etc.) in achieving their goalsFinance leadership:
works with the Finance leadership team to help identify gaps and areas of improvement towards best business practicesExperience in multiple regions from a Financial Controls/Management perspective, including working at a senior level with auditors, regulators, and heads of businesses in these regions is highly desirablePersonal attributes which would be seen in the ideal applicant include:
