ED, Head, WRB Performance Management Hong Kong Area of interest: Audit, Accounting & Finance Overall WRB HK performance management supporting Head of WRB Finance HK and GCNA, Head of WRB Hong Kong on Financial Planning and Budgeting/Forecasting, monthly performance review and analysis: Responsible for supporting Head WRB Hong Kong and team on management of WRB HK cost base, driving business efficiency to meet Group WRB Cost Efficiency targets, through deep dive analysis and helping business identify and track cost save initiatives. Responsible for providing analysis and review of cost allocations of the business as well as between products and segments to support the understanding of the full returns of each product and sub-segments. Support the Priority (including GC/GBA) and Personal Banking Segment teams on performance reviews and analysis on both financials and non-financials KPIs. Support the business on initiatives such as network income and partnerships. Provide business insights on competitor analysis & peer reviews and non-financial KPIs analysis e.g NIM, NTB, Digital adoption/ penetration etc. Work with Country and Group WRB Finance and Hong Kong Country Finance teams on any performance, report issues, risks and opportunities. Responsibilities Strategy Supporting Head, WRB Hong Kong and Head, WRB Finance HK and GCNA to develop and drive WRB overall strategy and delivery of corporate plans including ROTE targets and providing relevant financial information and advice, working with the HK business teams and Group WRB finance teams. Business Responsible for supporting the HK WRB Biz Management team with MI and analysis of the Management results covering actual, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting to support the delivery of key metrics including ROTE targets and strategic initiatives. This includes preparation, consolidation and review of management packs across the teams. Responsible for supporting the business in driving the identification, tracking and delivery of Cost Efficiency targets. This includes supporting expense accounting and reporting, providing Biz MI and analysis on the cost base, Group cost allocations as well as preparing and supporting in the forecasting and budgeting activities, review and challenge cost allocation drivers and methodologies. Support the business teams through provision of timely and objective insights and feedback on business and investment decisions, to help ensure that investment resources are prioritised. Support the Priority segment including the GC/GBA teams and the Personal segment on business performance analysis and initiatives including partnerships. Support the Group and Regional Biz Finance team with commentaries and variance analysis on the performance. Provide market intelligence on key competitors' performance and highlight any changes in the competitive landscape. Resolve management accounting issues and implement Group policies stated in the Management Accounting manuals. Participate in ad-hoc finance related projects, including providing support to Finance Transformation initiatives as well as simplification of bank process. Processes Apply Group Accounting and financial control policies, standards, procedures, and internal control practices and recommended appropriate financial policies / procedures in support of strategic business goals and ensuring integrity of Performance and Expenses reporting. Lead and drive continuous improvements, identifying opportunities to consolidate, automate, and gain process efficiencies. Invest and rebuild GFS support from transactional-based approach in handling lower end financial activities to be more a true finance partners in upskilling to support in insights and financial review. Improve wider collaboration between country and group to drive best practices and streamline processes and methodologies. People & Talent Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners. Drive for up tiering and upskilling for the team, continue to identify task migrate opportunities to allow more rooms for both onshore and offshore team's growth. Provision of ongoing training and development of people and look for job rotation opportunities for the team's growth and back up. Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives. Risk Management Identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks during the daily process or reporting, as well as have an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group. Key Stakeholders WRB HK management team and sub-teams including Head of WRB HK, Regional and HK head of Pv B, Group WRB Business Finance, Country Performance management, Country Risk team, Country Retail analytics team, Offshore GFS team, Auditors. Our Ideal Candidate Qualified accountant or equivalent, with experience in banking industry and has held senior Finance roles in complex organizations. Exposure to the WRB business would be preferred. Role Specific Technical Competencies MS Excel, Powerpoint, Other Productivity Tools are a plus.
