Nature-based Solutions (NbS) maximize the ability of nature to provide ecosystem services that help address human challenges, such as climate change adaptation, disaster-risk reduction, reducing water pollution, and food production, while at the same time helping restore and enhance biodiversity. The Nature Conservancy Hong Kong business unit is developing an NbS for Climate strategy that aims to design and implement NbS for Climate pilot projects as proof of concept on the ground—with a focus on the Northern Metropolis region, and to influence urban planning processes by incorporating the NbS concept and methodologies into development policies.The NbS Project Manager will be responsible for managing and leading small to large-scale complex projects across the Hong Kong TNC work programme that contributes to TNC’s 2030 goals. A primary focus of the role will be to build the NbS evidence base through academic partnerships, demonstrate NbS site projects, and engage with government, local communities, and other parties to incentivize the uptake of NbS pathways such as coastal wetland restoration.This is intended to be a full-time, fixed term (three-year) position, with the possibility to renew.Candidate with more experience and qualifications may be considered as Senior NbS Project Manager.RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the work of cross-functional, cross-divisional teams towards a desired outcome.Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.Develop and implement new initiatives that will ensure department and organization-wide goals and strategies are achieved.Ensure programmatic commitments, Conservancy policies and procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.Manage project budgets and assist with budget development related to strategic projects.Manage and implement multiple complex projects, including managing project teams, setting deadlines, and ensuring accountability.May manage or participate in complex negotiations.May supervise one or more administrative or professional staff, including training and professional development.Travel occasionally, working long and flexible hours as needed.Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.Work within the scope of the program’s strategic goals.WHAT YOU'LL BRING

BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives, and managing performance.Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups, and/or government agencies.Experience in managing project teams and working with cross-functional staff.Experience in managing scheduling, staffing, workloads, and financial aspects of small to large projects that range from short to long term under deadlines.Master's degree or above in relevant conservation fields.Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.5-7 years’ experience in conservation practice or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated experience influencing, developing, and implementing conservation policy and plans.Knowledge of current trends and practices in relevant disciplines and regions.Knowledge of methods and standards of biodiversity information systems and initiatives or related field.Demonstrated experience in fundraising.Politically savvy.Knowledge of land management conservation practice and climate science.Strong project management skills with sensitivity to timelines.Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills via written, spoken, and graphical means, and ability to explain conservation practices to technical and non-technical audiences.WHAT WE BRING
