Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee In this dynamic role, you'll tackle sophisticated technical product underwriting, engage with complex cases, and directly influence national product strategy. Your new role Responsible for underwriting highly technical programs requiring detailed knowledge of underwriting within specific product classes. Responsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for products aimed at the corporate segment (i.e liability, CAR liability, Fac-RI, International Program, worker's compensation, employee compensation etc.) Responsible for managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery, product development and innovation Responsible for managing overall business relationship with Major Trading Partners(MTP) and brokers in the area of GWP growth Ensure the ongoing personal technical development to achieve ideal DAL stateAct as a role model and demonstrate good leadership behaviors Support the divisional underwriting function to actively manage talent (attract, recruit, develop and retain) to build people capability for the future (succession planning) Key Performance Indicator on Growth & Profitability - GWP including Renewal and New Business vs. Plan, GWP per Underwriter; NCOR % and UW profit for Corporate channel; Renewal retention rate and New Business pipeline in Salesforce; APTP / Rate Adequacy Key Performance Indicator on MTP and Broker Servicing & Satisfaction - Broker survey results About you Degree or equivalent qualification preferable Working experience with substantial experience gained within the General insurance industry to have the Understanding of relevant market conditions Thorough understanding of class specific underwriting and procedure and insurance/ reinsurance knowledge Ability to assess risk and use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss models Strong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills Ability to analyze data and use for decision-making to use pricing tools Strong attention to detail Established customer/broker relationships would be an asset Strong level of numeracy and literacy skills would be an asset Extensive knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio would be an asset About QBE What if you could have a positive impact - at work and in the world?
