Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Scientist to join our team in the Pharmaceutical Development department. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for planning and executing pharmaceutical development programs for innovative health products, working with a team of professionals to develop platform technology, and acquiring in-depth knowledge of scientific principles and technical know-how required for pharmaceutical advanced formulation technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of Scientists to formulate new health products in various oral forms, including capsules, sachets, and tablets, requiring laboratory hands-on work.
- Participate in the ITF project and post-ITF project on novel traditional Chinese medicines development.
- Develop new research technologies in new formulation techniques for novel TCM health products.
- Participate in searching literature, sourcing for new equipment, and writing proposals and funding.
- Trouble-shoot technical issues in the technology transfer process.
- Perform formulation characterization, such as moisture content, particle size analysis, microscopic observation.
- Communicate with various departments on the technology transfer development and commercialization of health products, content assay, and dissolution experiments.
- Maintain the workflow and provide training to staff, including sourcing vendors of raw materials, developing formulations, scaling-up, and performing technology transfer to production department.
- Perform literature search to support product claims.
- Support other R&D activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Chinese Medicines, Food and Nutritional Science, Botany, Chemistry, or related field.
- Must have a keen sense of taste and possess chemical knowledge in health supplements, Traditional Chinese Medicine ingredients, and tea.
- Basic knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine properties and function is highly appreciated.
- 5 years of experience in the technical development in food/FMCG industry. Leadership experiences in other related scientific areas will also be considered.
- Good team working, time management, and multiple project management skills.
