Position Overview

Department: Department of Finance

The Department of Finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong invites applications for the role of Senior Lecturer / Professional Consultant / Lecturer in Actuarial Science and Insurance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality instruction in actuarial science and insurance at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Providing academic guidance and support to students;
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of the curriculum;
  • Participating in departmental committees and fulfilling administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Candidates applying for the Senior Lecturer or Lecturer positions should possess:

  • An advanced degree, ideally a PhD;
  • Proven capability in delivering exceptional teaching at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, commensurate with their qualifications and experience;
  • A strong dedication to teaching excellence and scholarly activities.

Those meeting the above criteria and having substantial professional experience in reputable insurance firms or actuarial organizations are encouraged to apply for the Professional Consultant position.

This appointment will initially be on a contractual basis for a duration of two years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.
