Job Title: Term Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Term Instructor to join our team at the Vocational Training Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting classes and practical training, supervising students' projects, and delivering catering and culinary services to hotel guests and members of the general public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classes and practical training, including supervision of students' projects, Workplace Learning Assessment, and Integrated Learning Experience/Work-Integrated Learning.
  • Prepare and update training materials and assist in curriculum development.
  • Deliver catering and culinary services to hotel guests and members of the general public during daily operations.
  • Maintain training-related records and store inventory.
  • Assist in the routine maintenance of equipment/facilities of the Section.
  • Assist in the recruitment and placement of students.
  • Assist in the effective running of training programmes, training kitchens, special training events/functions, and culinary competitions.

Requirements:

  • A recognised higher diploma in the discipline of Western Bakery and Pastry or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' relevant experience in hotel/catering industry and/or teaching.
  • Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Good knowledge of basic computer applications.
  • Ability to pass a trade test.

Notes:

  • Candidates without the required academic qualifications stated above but possessing 8 years' relevant experience may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
  • Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic/professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
  • The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
  • In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
