Job Title: Part-time Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-time Instructor to join our team at the Vocational Training Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting classes and practical training in travel and tourism aspects, assisting in the development of program curriculum and updating training materials, and handling administrative duties related to students and assisting in student recruitment and placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classes and practical training in travel and tourism aspects
  • Assist in the development of program curriculum and update training materials
  • Handle administrative duties related to students and assist in student recruitment and placement
  • Liaise with counterparts in the industry and other training institutions

Requirements:

  • A recognised higher diploma in the discipline of Hotel and / or Tourism Management or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' relevant experience in travel agents and airline ticketing operations and / or teaching
  • Valid Tourist Guide Pass and / or Tour Escort Pass issued by the Travel Industry Authority (formerly Travel Industry Council) of Hong Kong is an advantage
  • Knowledge and skills in computerised travel & tourism operating systems and airline industry is an advantage
  • Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese, knowledge of Putonghua is preferable
  • Good knowledge of basic computer applications
  • Ability to pass a trade test

Notes:

  • Candidates without the required academic qualifications stated in (a) above but possessing 8 years' relevant experience may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
  • Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
  • The appointee will be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
  • In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
