Job Title: Senior Manager/Manager

City University of Hong Kong is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Senior Manager/Manager in our Campus Development department.

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will play a key role in various capital, operation, and property management projects from planning to implementation and delivery. Key duties include:

  • Monitoring the progress and quality of works, and providing expert advice on structural design, on-site problems, project planning, and implementation;
  • Coordinating and supervising contractors and workers to ensure compliance with requirements;
  • Coordinating among consultants, contractors, users, and in-house units on record maintenance;
  • Handling contract administration matters, including project financial issues;
  • Overseeing tendering exercises for the employment of consultants and contractors;
  • Ensuring the rectification of defects;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, with a valid safety training course certificate. A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years at senior management level, is required. Extensive experience in building development and large-scale building project execution in Hong Kong is essential. The appointee should be self-motivated, performance-driven, and possess proven management and leadership ability to complete tasks within tight schedules. Good analytical and interpersonal skills are also required.

Candidates with professional qualifications such as MHKIE, MICE, MIStructE, and Chartered Engineer (HKIE/MIStructE) are preferred. Substantial experience in higher education institutions and/or managing government subvention projects, as well as the ability to use AutoCAD and Revit, are also desirable.

Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Manager (Structure).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

The remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract, with fringe benefits including gratuity, leave, medical, and dental schemes.
