Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will contribute to the development and optimization of miniaturized sensor systems for performance sports engineering.

Company Overview

The Aerodynamic, Acoustic and Noise control Technology Centre () has been collaborating with local sports teams/associations in performance sports engineering over the past 4 years. Our research focuses on developing tailored sensor systems to monitor aerodynamic and motion metrics during athlete training, enhancing athletic performance.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to hardware design and development of embedded sensor systems for windsurfing and cycling.
  2. Design system architecture, draw schematic diagrams and design PCB layouts.
  3. Send PCBs to prototyping factories and conduct SMT soldering.
  4. Compile development documents, debug, and test prototypes.
  5. Solve hardware problems in R&D processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree or above in robotics, electronic engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or automation.
  • Hands-on experience in hardware development.
  • Familiarity with common hardware development kits, soldering tools, and testing instruments.
  • Familiarity with communication interfaces such as IIC, SPI, USATR.
  • Familiarity with various electric components packages and their material characteristics.
  • Proficiency in Protel, Altium Designer, DXP, lichuang EDA, or other professional software for drawing schematic diagrams, layouts, and master PCB wiring rules.
  • Experience in software development is preferred.
  • Participation in relevant competitions at the national level and being the champion or first runner-up (applicable for bachelor's degree holders).
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAE/circuit simulation software is preferred.
Salary and Benefits

This full-time position comes with an attractive salary range of HKD 80,000 - 120,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience. We also offer fringe benefits including annual leave, medical, and dental benefits where applicable.
