The Senior Manager, Collections Information is responsible for the overall management and coordination of collections documentation delivered by the Museum's collections management system. This role ensures efficient workflows and optimal access to collection information for staff and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customisation and Management: Oversee the customisation and management of the TMS suite of applications, developing effective database tools and workflows for accessing and developing collection information.
- Collection Information Projects: Lead efforts on collection information projects, delivering data to the web in collaboration with the Digital team, and identifying implementation workflows.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Design reports on statistics related to collections information, activities, data integrity, and location tracking.
- TMS Training and Support: Oversee the development and review of the TMS training program for museum staff, continually evaluating its effectiveness and developing new courses as needed.
- Internal Website Development: Create and enhance an internal website providing staff with instruction and documentation to support TMS use, including data entry guides and cataloguing rules.
- Cataloguing Standards: Collaborate with curators, registrars, conservation teams, and authoritative documentation sources to agree, implement, and maintain collection cataloguing standards.
