Job Opportunity

The Hong Kong Corporate Actuarial serves as a financial management hub, providing professional advice and services to senior management in cutting-edge actuarial areas, including IFRS17 valuation reporting and analysis, Hong Kong RBC capital valuation and management, business planning and forecasting, participating business and reinsurance management, as well as statutory financial reporting duties to regulators.

This role is responsible for heading the participating business ('Par') management, accountable for leading the company's Par policyholder dividend recommendation, Par fund guideline compliance, and other related reporting such as fulfilment ratio disclosure. The role will also support the chief actuary in Par valuation and product review, and support business financial planning processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead participating ('Par') policyholder dividend recommendation processes, formulate proposals to the chief actuary, and facilitate stakeholders' review including the Canada group office.
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory requirements such as Hong Kong GL16, relevant guidelines in Macau and Canada, as well as other internal Par policies. This also includes the upcoming Par fund management guideline developed by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority ('IA').
  • Manage team members to deliver end-to-end processes including production of underlying actuarial calculations, Par governance policy regular review, dividend report to the group office and the company's board of directors, fulfilment ratio reporting, and coordinate the dividend scale implementation in the system.
  • Provide advice to the chief actuary in specialized topics on Par valuation and product.
  • Lead other department priorities such as business financial planning.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to junior actuaries in the team.
  • Champion reporting processes improvement and efficiency.
