Actuarial Principal

About the Role

At AIA International Limited, we're committed to creating a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone. As an Actuarial Principal, you'll play a key role in shaping our product development and maintenance strategies. You'll work closely with the Associate Director to drive business growth and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of system delivery. Your expertise will be essential in reviewing and proposing amendments to product design and actuarial basis, as well as conducting profitability analysis of existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare new product/campaign pricing to meet the financial requirements of the company. Review the product/campaign features from a product risk perspective. Conduct profitability analysis of existing products. (20%)
  • Review and propose amendments to product design and actuarial basis to be applied in new product pricing and profitability analysis. (10%)
  • Responsible for the actuarial-related areas in the product/campaign implementation cycle to ensure accuracy and timeliness of system delivery. Responsible for meeting the timeline and schedule for product internal and regulatory approval process. (10%)
  • Review experience studies/reports and propose best estimate assumptions timely. Report if any adverse trend and abnormality is observed. (10%)
Other Responsibilities:

  • Represent Actuarial and provide required actuarial support to distribution initiatives and special projects including the implementation of new regulatory regimes. (15%)
  • Support manager in coordination of task assignment and resources for the team. (5%)
  • Develop and train up subordinates to gain product knowledge and product pricing techniques. Regularly review and discuss the progress of subordinates and identify improvement/development areas. (15%)
  • Develop and review special quotations. (5%)
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by manager in order to meet business or other requirements. (10%)
  • Ensure team members who perform regulated activities have obtained the relevant licenses and fulfilled the licensing requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements:

  • University/College graduate with at least 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Attained Fellowship in Actuarial professional examination
  • Proficient in MS Office and data analysis techniques, knowledge of actuarial software will be an advantage
  • Experience in project and staff management
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
