Project Officer, Hong Kong South China Historical Research Programme

Lingnan University is a leading research-intensive liberal arts institution in the digital era, striving to enhance innovation and technology research to drive a positive impact in society and the world. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Officer to join our team for the Hong Kong South China Historical Research Programme.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature review, oral history interviews, and field trips to gather valuable insights and data.
  • Design, compile, and draft learning and teaching materials to support the project's educational goals.
  • Liaise with schools and other work and community partners to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Coordinate workshops, seminars, exhibitions, carnivals, and other educational activities to engage with the community.
  • Teach in workshops for primary and secondary school students to promote historical awareness and appreciation.
  • Handle documentation of all materials related to the project, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Facilitate the general administrative work, including managing schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator and seniors.

Requirements

  • A recognized Bachelor's Degree, preferably in History, Chinese, Translation, or Social Sciences.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in teaching or education, and/or project coordination.
  • A good command of spoken and written Chinese (Cantonese) and English.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, meticulous, and well-organized.
  • High self-motivation, good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC operations, including MS Office applications and Chinese Word Processing.

Salary and Benefits

The commencing salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund. Appointments will normally be made on a contract basis for up to 12 months.
