About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Strategic Equity Portfolio Manager to join our team at State Street Global Markets (SSGM). In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of global equity strategy and equities' role in the multi-asset portfolio.
As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for delivering well-received content at research retreats, roadshows, roundtables, one-on-one meetings, and external conferences. You will also lead key client engagement for our research offering with an emphasis on cross-asset analysis.
The successful candidate will have 10-12+ years of experience working on either a buyside or sell-side research role, with a strong foundation and understanding of multi-asset investing, macroeconomics, portfolio construction, and the drivers of market risk and return.
You will participate in the active rotation of individual and group research report writing, including equity weekly, monthly, and asset allocation documents. Additionally, you will help promote the State Street Global Markets brand externally through media interviews and assist in building the corporate brand.
In this role, you will work towards a more intensive collaboration between the Strategy and Portfolio Solutions teams. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of economic and political factors that impact equity markets and financial markets more broadly.
About You
- A degree in Economics, Finance, or a Quantitative subject with postgraduate or professional qualifications an advantage
- At least 3-5 years of market experience, preferably with a financial institution
- Regional language skills – Chinese, Korean, or Japanese – an advantage but not essential
