The Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is seeking an exceptional candidate for a post of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor.
We are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in sustainability governance, with a scholarly focus on urban and regional studies in the context of sustainable development.
Applicants should possess (i) a doctoral degree; (ii) a strong academic background in at least one of the following areas: sustainability, urban planning, geography, environmental policy, or a related field; and (iii) demonstrated outstanding research and scholarly works in the relevant fields, showcasing potential for research excellence.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching courses and curriculum development at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level related to sustainability governance or related fields; conducting independent research; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on relevant research projects; and undertaking academic administrative service.
Appointment will normally be made on a contract basis for up to three years initially, targeted to start in August 2024, which subject to performance, funding availability, and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
