Department Overview

The Risk Management division is tasked with overseeing the risks associated with the Group's business operations, adhering to the risk appetite set forth by the Board. This encompasses the identification and evaluation of risks, the formulation of robust risk governance frameworks, and the provision of independent assessments regarding the overall risk landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Operational Risk in upholding the bank's operational and technology risk documentation, incident tracking, and identifying control deficiencies.
  • Perform assessments of technology risk management and offer insights or critical evaluations on products and initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, mitigate, monitor, and report on operational and technology risk challenges; prepare comprehensive documentation and reports for management and committees.
  • Collaborate with various teams and departments to devise operational risk mitigation strategies and oversee the progress of action plans.
  • Coordinate with IT, Business, Compliance, and Regulatory bodies on significant IT-related incidents.
  • Support regular reviews and evaluations of technology risk domains, including IT Outsourcing, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning, and monitoring controls.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement technology risk management policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Partner with information technology teams to manage information security risks effectively.
  • Provide expertise in banking application security, including insights into current cybersecurity trends and threats.
  • Cultivate and sustain productive relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Studies, Information Systems, or related fields, complemented by relevant professional certifications.
  • Over 7 years of experience in Operational Risk, Cybersecurity, IT Risk, IT Compliance, IT Audit, or related sectors within the Financial Services industry.
  • Knowledgeable about technology regulatory frameworks, including HKMA SPM, HKMA Circulars, and customer data protection regulations.
  • Familiar with technology risk frameworks, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, code reviews, and technology risk evaluations.
  • Relevant practitioner certification for HKMA's ECF-Cybersecurity is advantageous.
